Events Assistant

HireStrategy's client in Montgomery County, MD and Washington DC is looking for an Events Coordinator with extensive experience organizing and coordinating large meetings and events!

Responsibilities:

  • Manage Cvent online registration system including design, release and maintenance. Provide training and support on Cvent system.
  • Manage meetings database including updating event registration.
  • Coordinate amenities and accommodations for meetings, conferences and special events.
  • Responsible for overseeing the event registration. Serve as point of contact for on-site event registration process.
  • Manage the logistical planning and coordination of registration correspondence and materials as it relates to assigned meetings and events.
  • Update the social media platforms.
  • Spearhead the marketing integration as it relates to events.
  • Develop, prepare and present project updates and provides weekly, monthly and quarterly financial and registration reports for each project.
  • Manage financial transactions and funding for assigned events.
  • Research and secure hotels and venues for future meetings and events.
  • Develop programs and all operational and financial details for events and meetings.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Knowledge and Skills Required:
  • Minimum three years of event planning experience.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Superb interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and work independently and as a team.
  • Ability to travel locally.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite, Oracle and Cvent.
