Medical Assistant - Certified or Registered

Twin Cities Area

Position Overview:

Our client is seeking a Clinical Assistant (CMA) to work alongside a provider team traveling to local Assisted Living and Memory Care Units where direct patient care is provided. Duties include medication reconciliation, pre-rounding, rounding with providers while updating EMR, obtaining vitals and concerns, and assisting in provider paperwork. The role requires excellent organizational and customer service abilities. If hired on permanently, the CMA role offers work life balance with regular business hours, no weekends, three weeks of Paid Time Off (PTO), and nine paid (non-working) holidays.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist providers and facilitate an efficient, organized clinical flow
  • Interact with patients for annual wellness visits and document as necessary
  • Pre-rounding and/or rounding with providers while updating EMR
  • Ensure electronic medical records are accurately updated on a daily basis
  • Set up e-prescriptions under direct supervision of providers
  • Medication reconciliation
  • Work independently and with provider teams, internal staff, and facility staff
  • Take notes and document observations alongside provider during patient visits
  • Monitor patient portal messages, summarize for provider as necessary

Qualifications:

  • Graduate of an accredited Certified Medical Assistant program; New graduates are welcome to apply
  • Medical Assistant Certification required
  • Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Detail oriented and accurate
  • Computer proficient, electronic medical record systems experience preferred
  • 45+ WPM typing, medical terminology knowledge and understanding of patient care notes
  • Demonstrated compatibility with Bluestone's mission and operating philosophies
  • Demonstrated ability to read, write, speak, and understand the English language
