Job Description: Position Summary
Activision Blizzard (AB) is seeking a Senior Vice President of Human Resources (Senior People Officer) to be part of a transformational leadership team. Reporting to the Chief People Officer (CPO), the role's main purpose is to lead the People Strategy that will support the franchises, businesses and departments in realizing their aspirations and objectives. This will require someone who can think big, is comfortable challenging convention, and knows that relationships are the critical ingredient in a creative organization. The role would be a champion of the company's culture and core values. Whether coaching Executives on leading their teams, defining the right behaviors that enable the desired culture and implementing the required changes or ensuring all resources are optimized for the future this role is all about change and culture. The SPO will be an integral part of the Human Resource leadership team. This leader will bring thought leadership and a plan for people and organizational opportunities, challenges and changes required.
The SPO will manage a five-person leadership team of talent leaders who in turn collectively oversee a team of staff members. This critical role will also serve as a member of AB's Executive Leadership Team (ELT).

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the business strategy by helping leaders identify, prioritize, and build organizational capabilities, behaviors, team structures, and processes
  • Facilitate long-term initiatives aligned with the strategic agenda
  • Partner with line managers in forecasting and planning their talent pipeline requirements in line with the function or business
  • In conjunction with the Human Resource Centers of Excellence, provide a broad range of HR leadership for achieving strategic business objectives that include talent management, talent acquisition, organizational effectiveness, leadership development, total rewards and employee engagement
  • Develop and promote ongoing feedback mechanisms for leaders and employees to influence the continuous improvement of the HT services delivery model and processes
  • Provide expert advice and coaching to leaders and employees regarding human capital trends and the competitive landscape
  • Lead an HR team that will support business strategies and ensure day-to-day HR responsibilities (employee relations, org re-structures, training & recruitment, etc.)
  • Define a vision and corresponding strategic plan for talent work at AB that aligns with the organization's next multi-year strategic plan
  • Partner with Performance Management to ensure the quality implementation of AB's performance management system across all levels and teams in the organization
  • Model and facilitate a culture of continuous learning, ensuring that staff has access to continued professional development and opportunities for growth

Year 1 Success
  • Upskilled and developed the HRBP community to have a strong blend of talent, core HR experience, business, and financial acumen
  • Aligned HRBPs with proven ability to select the necessary talent levers to achieve the most business value
  • Influenced and drove talent initiative that generate real business value by pulling talent levers
  • Acted as the senior talent leader possessing the credibility and authority to drive important talent decisions
  • In partnership with the CoEs, assessed the pipeline and establishes a strong pipeline for mission critical roles
  • Identified and built valued-added relationships with the top 30 people in the business unit
  • Able to articulate with process, data, and judgement the best and weakest performers in the business unit and drive the action plans on each
  • Through Human Capital Planning determined what efforts require investment and interventions to prepare the workforce for change and growth

Requirements
  • Minimum of 15 years of professional experience, including a track record of managing a high-performing team through layers to achieve ambitious goals; at least five years in a senior talent leadership role
  • Substantial eye for business acumen
  • Clear, comprehensive understanding of the link between talent and other HR initiatives and business strategy
  • Ability to identify new ways for HR to support the business strategy
  • Ability to collect and synthesize large quantities of quantitative and qualitative data and translate them for decision making purposes
  • Ability to recognize trends and develop recommendations based on data analysis
  • Ability to engage, encourage, and influence people
  • Effective teammate and networker with strong interpersonal, communication, and customer service skills
  • Multicultural competence and ability to lead and manage others through a lens of diversity
  • Significant knowledge of HR policies and processes (e.g., workforce planning and talent management) with a proven track record of success in the following areas
    • Providing business value to the enterprise and to leaders and their orgs through the HR Business Partner function
    • Building credibility and trust across a diverse range of groups and identifying value creators
    • Excellent manager of HR business partners including attracting, developing and retaining staff
    • Building dedication and trust among clients, peers, partners, and direct reports
    • Rolling up your sleeves to get things done and the next moment being part of deeply complex strategy discussions
    • Superb communication skills and an understanding of how to communicate and implement large complex change
    • Experience with creative cultures and motivating creative individuals and teams
    • Experience in transformational change using strong analytical and problem-solving skills
    • Ability to analyze data, understand trends and develop recommendations for action based on the analysis
  • Broad talent experience with deep experience in at least two or more of the following functional areas: talent acquisition, human resources, performance management, executive leadership employee relations and engagement and D&I at a well-respected fast transforming company
  • A track record of developing and implementing innovative and progressive human capital and organizational culture systems

Education
Undergraduate degree required. MBA preferred.
