Job Description:Summary
The Activision Infrastructure team is looking for an experienced Cloud Engineer to join the team in either our office in Vancouver, Canada or in Sherman Oaks, California. This team supports a variety of cloud workloads and you will be instrumental in setting standards on key technologies. You will help drive efficiencies and both cost and performance within Amazon Web Services and the Google Cloud Platform.

This position will begin as remote, however, once restrictions are lifted will be onsite. We work on large, distributed systems such as Kafka and Cassandra, keep them running in the Cloud, and help internal teams build large projects on Google Cloud using Terraform.

Responsibilities
  • Drive IaC and automation projects to produce scalable and repeatable infrastructure
  • Guide cloud, security and data governance standards and requirements
  • Coordinate with development teams to identify and implement appropriate GCP services
  • Troubleshoot issues with cloud services, vendors, and open source projects
  • Actively contribute to documentation repositories
  • Design custom tools and scripts as necessary
  • Participate in an on-call support rotation

Requirements
  • Demonstrated ability designing and delivering large-scale projects
  • Experience managing reproducible infrastructure e.g. Infrastructure as Code
  • Container Experience (container build pipelines, troubleshooting, and architecture)
  • Basic networking (routes, security groups, firewall rules)
  • Experience in version control and managing build pipelines
  • Excellent communication skills
  • 2+ yrs Cloud Computing Experience (AWS/GCP/Azure)
  • 5+ yrs of System Engineering experience or equivalent
