The Systems Engineer for Enterprise Management tools will have experience maintaining and supporting core infrastructure applications (and the other elements of the technical architecture) using a unified collection of technology services, tools, standards and control structures. The goal is to ensure the continuous delivery of IT Operations, Security, Network, Workplace Technology & Collaboration, and Data Center technology to ensure that critical applications can respond effectively and perform against the demands placed on them. The Systems Engineer is responsible for analysis, design, build, testing, and configuration of Application Performance Monitoring tools in support of off-the-shelf Enterprise Management products to support the monitoring, metrics, and analytics associated with IT service health and service level monitoring.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the design, evaluation, provisioning, configuration, and support of Application Performance Monitoring tools

  • Assist in monitoring and management of Enterprise Management tools.

  • Assist in migration of existing tools to the cloud.

  • Assist in the automation of manual tasks using tools such as Chef, Puppet, or other scripting languages.

    + Basic qualifications

    Basic Qualifications:

    • BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Information Systems, Engineering, Math, Business or other technical major and at least 10 years of recent systems/software engineering experience, OR at least 16 years of recent experience in systems engineering
    • US Citizenship required.


    Preferred Skills:

    • Hands on recent use and knowledge of specific products and related technologies: IT systems administration experience in the DoD community
    • Windows, Red Hat Linux, and/or Solaris administration experience
    • Amazon AWS compute, storage, database, and networking administration experience
    • Knowledge of networking protocols, TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, LDAP & NFS
    • Development of scripts (shell/perl) and automation (Chef/Puppet)
    • Storage Administration experience (NetApp, EMC, Sun, SGI, Oracle)
    • Virtualization experience
    • Experience in supporting 24/7 operations


    An active security clearance or the ability to obtain one may be required for this role.
