Network Engineer - Deployment

Overview

The Network Engineer will configure, install, and support network hardware and software infrastructure including switches, routers, firewalls, brides, gateways, etc. Candidate will also ensure that all network equipment complies with industry and corporate standards, and IAVA compliances, as well as conduct routine preventative measures and implement and maintain network security and ensure security compliance. Candidate will also plan and implement future IT development projects and undertake project work including project management. Candidate must be a team player that can work under pressure with good written and oral communication skills. Candidate must be able to train others on various computer software and hardware.

Responsibilities

  • Configure, install and support network hardware and software infrastructures to include switches, routers, firewalls, and servers
  • Manage trouble tickets that pertain to the sustainment of CND (Computer Network Defense) systems
  • Provide onsite technical assists in support of CND fielded systems for issues that cannot be resolved via remote support
  • Support the CND system to meet any Computer Tasking Orders (CTO) or other DoN/DoD/Federal guidelines for compliance
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree desired (preferably in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Computer Systems) and 2+ years of experience. Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret clearance
  • Security+ Certification
  • Windows or Linux Operating System Certification
  • Able to employ professional communication over telephone and email correspondence
  • Must hold or be able to obtain a US Passport
  • Ability to travel up to 50%

Additional Desired Qualifications:

  • Extensive knowledge of Cisco, Juniper, Palo Alto, Sourcefire, McAfee and Uplogix devices
  • CCNA Certification
  • Knowledge of both LAN and WAN networks
  • Experience troubleshooting BGP and OSPF routing protocols
  • Experience configuring and troubleshooting IPSEC VPNs
