Business/Requirements Analyst

Overview

AbleVets, LLC is a fast-growing Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing healthcare information technology services and resources to help the VA and DoD improve the lives of the people they serve. AbleVets has an opportunity for an experienced, motivated Requirements Analyst to support our customer in the implementation of a large, complex COTS solution. This position is our client's site in Arlington, VA

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have experience working with customers, users, and project leads in analyzing, implementing, and supporting a wide variety of IT business systems.The Requirements Analyst will be responsible for supporting the elaboration, tracking, and managing of functional and non-functional requirements. Duties and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

  • Support development of a Technical Requirements Plan to outline the activities and processes associated with managing, tracking and updating program requirements
  • Maintenance and update of the Requirements Traceability Matrix to support development and testing efforts
  • Support development and management of functional workflows
  • Continued development, tracking and communication of requirements with stakeholders and across the program team
  • Facilitating discussions with technical and non–technical audiences while acting as an intermediary and translator to identify functional and technical requirements effectively Identifying and mitigating risks to the program
  • Ensuring development of quality deliverables within established schedules
  • Collaborating with teams across the customer organization to improve processes, results, and effectiveness of requirements plans and processes
  • Reporting progress, status and associated data/metrics associated with program requirements

Qualifications

  • A Bachelor’s Degree with five (5) years of demonstrated and hands-on experience in requirements analysis. An additional six (6) years of related experience can be substituted for degree requirement
  • Ability to communicate with technical and non-technical audiences effectively
  • Experience with varying SW development approaches including agile and waterfall
  • Familiarity with requirements management tools to include Rational DOORS, JIRA, Version 1, and HP ALM
  • Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
  • Solid interpersonal skills and demonstrable team building skills
  • Must be able to travel when needed, up to 25% of the time
  • Must be able to obtain DoD Secret clearance for which U.S. Citizenship is required

Preferred / Desired Skills:

  • Previous experience defining non-functional requirements in the following areas:
    • Infrastructure
    • Data management
    • Information security /assurance
    • Role-based access management
