Leave of Absence

Administrator

to join our team! The incumbent will serve as the business partner to internal business units in the administration and analysis of all leave programs. The ideal candidate will have experience in administering leave programs, and will also have experience with workers compensation and ADA.

The primary duties of the Leave of Absence Administrator are:


  • Administer the leave programs in conjunction with third-party administrators to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations as well as company policies related to FML, personal/short/long term disability, and Workers Compensation. Advise management and associates on FMLA law as well as other leave programs.  Manage inquiries regarding procedures, policies, and eligibility rules and regulations. Ensure timely and accurate communications .Coordinate FML with other forms of leave including Workers Compensation, short term disability and paid-time-off. Prepare and provide to Payroll a bi-weekly short term disability pay notification report. Communicate and coordinate with other HR departments, as needed.

    Act as an advocate for associates on leave to ensure compliance with all federal, state and local laws and to ensure a successful return to work .Serve as first point of escalation for leave related issues. Consult with third party vendors, the Benefits, Associate Relations, Payroll, and HR Customer Services teams, as needed. Adhere to administrative procedures. Research and compile information needed to develop process improvement recommendations. Monitor and analyze usage and trends within leave programs. Work with Benefit and Risk Management Directors to design and develop strategies and plans to reduce leave frequency and duration and expedite return to work.

      Create and maintain leave of absence records, including virtual, paper and system files to ensure accurate and timely documentation and reporting. Participate in meetings, workshops and seminars as assigned for the purpose of conveying and/or gathering information required to perform functions. Provide back-up assistance to Benefits Department staff members. Prepare reports as requested. Assist with other HR related projects or other duties as assigned.

    

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelors Degree in Human Resources or equivalent area of study or equivalent experience.

4+ years of experience working with federal and state leave of absence administration. Knowledge of current leave of absence laws, regulations and policies. HR certification a plus (i.e. PHR or CEBS certification).

Proficient use of Microsoft Office software and HRIS systems.

  Demonstrated strong analytical skills and the ability to recognize patterns and connections in complex information; able to utilize appropriate judgment in role as an advisor.

  • A competitive salary of $56,400 - $60,000/year, dependent on experience.
