Customer Care Representative
1-800-PetMeds seeks passionate, customer service-oriented professionals to provide outstanding service to all of our Pet Parents by placing orders and responding to inquiries about shipments, products and service via phone, email and web chat.
All of our Customer Care Representatives go through an extensive training program to give them the tools for success in their role. The training period will familiarize them with 1-800-PetMed's products, software, policies and procedures.
Reports to: Sales Managers & Call Center Director
Qualification/Requirements
Experience
Prior experience in a customer service setting. Experience working in a call center environment is preferred.
Although being a Pet Parent is not a job requirement, you absolutely must LOVE pets! In fact, many of our employees who did not previously have pets quickly found themselves with a fur baby of their own soon after joining our team.
Education & Training
Must have a high school diploma or GED
Associate's or Bachelor's degree is a plus
Licensed Registered Pharmacy Technician in good standing in the State of Florida is a HUGE plus!!!
Skills
Excellent customer service skills (genuinely friendly, courteous and helpful)
Proficient in the use of PCs with good keyboarding skills and able to type at least 35 wpm
Superior communication skills (both written and verbal), with good grammar, voice and diction
Basic math skills and ability to calculate figures and percentages
Ability to read and interpret documents (such as operating manuals, instructions, and policies and procedures)
Personal Attributes
Ability to work evenings and 1 weekend day each week, as well as holidays as needed
Ability to commit to a full-time schedule throughout the year with optional overtime available
Upbeat personality with a genuinely friendly and helpful attitude
Must have a love for pets and a desire to learn everything about them
Patient and respectful team player who is willing to do what it takes to support the rest of the group
Ability to work in an office environment, sitting for long periods
Prefer working in a fun, casual, upbeat environment with lots of autonomy (and plenty of support)
