What Gloria loves about quality assurance is that the work requires innovation and utilizes expertise from her past experiences in engineering and business development. Excited by the brand and the cross-functional nature of the company, Gloria arrived to her interview armed with ideas, and she’s been problem-solving with YETI ever since.
A typical day for Gloria involves lots of communication, starting with the YETI team in Asia at around 5 AM. After responding to their queries, she moves to the office, where she’s either at her standing desk or on the move, meeting with core teams and suppliers, striving for improvement. It’s challenging and exciting—and very rewarding.
“As part of the Quality Team, you get to travel around the world. We have manufacturing partners in the Philippines, Japan, China and Taiwan. And the cool thing is, you get to really experience the culture in those countries while learning how our products are actually made.”
“If you want to work in the quality organization, the skill set requires that you enjoy problem-solving and continuous improvement. Understand that there‘s always something that we can do better, whether it‘s a product, process, or system.”
