Growing up, Stephen wanted to be a lot of things, but he ended up it at Clemson University studying accounting and finance. This focus led to several years in public accounting within real estate at private equity banks. Stephen grew more interested in an entrepreneurial organization, so Washington REIT was a natural transition for him.
Director of Technical Accounting & Accounting Policy
Stephen typically starts his day working with the CFO and the Director of Financial Reporting or the finance team—it depends on what the focus is at that time. Stephen’s main goal is to find common ground in the right solutions for each technical accounting issue, then bring it all together from a financial reporting perspective.
