When's the last time you wore a costume? If that doesn't seem like your typical interview question—well, Warby Parker's not your typical company. What's more, this year to celebrate Halloween, Warby turned the conference room into a Dexter-style kill room with a dead body. CEO Neil was dressed as Little Orphan Annie, and gave visiting graduate students an intro-to-Warby Parker presentation while wearing a wig and a dress, and standing in the middle of a room full of plastic wrap and fake blood.
Office With a Showroom
One of Warby's New York showrooms is located right inside its office. About a third of the light-filled open office space is a Warby Parker store, where customers can come, browse, and buy eyeglasses. Employees' desks fill the other two-thirds of the space—just far enough away to actually get work done, but close enough to be reminded every day exactly what Warby does, and how much their customers love them.
