Blake began working at startups after college. He read about Wallaby while it was still in quiet mode—but he loved the idea. He tracked Founder and CEO Matthew Goldman down via domain registry records, and they met up for coffee. As soon as Wallaby had funding, Blake was the first employee on board.
Blake uses mornings to decompress, walking his dog and eating breakfast before tackling the intensity of his workday. He typically arrives at 10 AM and reads emails before attending a 10:30 stand-up meeting. After that, Blake assists co-workers with their needs—he likes to spend afternoons focusing on his own development work.
“I’m most proud of the platform I’ve built here at Wallaby. It’s the core technology of the company—it’s been my baby since day one.”
“The management style is very direct, but they give you total autonomy over your work, which is great. If you make a mistake, you’re going to hear about it, but I like having the freedom to make that mistake.”
