Before joining Village Capital, Ben worked on a variety of issues, including criminal justice reform, voting rights, civic engagement, and more at organizations like the NAACP and Center for American Progress. Inspired by Village Capital’s vision for changing the world with its unique peer selection process, Ben was thrilled to join the team.
Ben started at Village Capital as a Leadership Development Associate. In that time, he took on a number of exciting projects, including a bus tour across Virginia, where they held pitch competitions in five different cities to meet the region’s finest entrepreneurs. Moving forward, he’ll be leading marketing and inbound lead generation initiatives to help grow the business.
“This isn’t just an organization for people who are interested in investing and venture capital—or for people who are interested in social justice. It’s an organization where you can learn about a lot of things and find out where these worlds intersect in really interesting ways.”
“What gets me excited to come to work is that every day, I learn about something fascinating that someone else is doing. Every time, it reminds me of how many moving parts there are in this organization that are working together to support the best entrepreneurs and invest in really important companies.”
