Assaf moved to the U.S. to attend graduate school at UC Berkeley, and it was there that he met some of his future co-workers. Assaf was looking for a startup with a mission he could get behind, a culture where he could fit in, and a role that would be fulfilling. He found all three things at Upwork.
Integrating ideas from members of different departments and feedback from the freelancers themselves, Assaf works with his team to develop and refine the tools that help freelancers find new jobs, submit proposals, manage their work, and build successful careers. Assaf’s favorite part of the job is seeing how freelancers use newly released products.
“It’s not uncommon to see a developer, a designer, a product manager, and a marketer working together, using their different strengths to solve one problem.”
“It’s really exciting to be part of this ecosystem and this company that is reshaping the way people work. What wasn’t possible 10 or 15 years ago is now enabled by technology, and commuting to an office every day just doesn’t make sense anymore.”
