Jennie’s Story
The Apprentice
Originally from Virginia Beach, Jennie came to Chicago to learn how to code and enrolled in a developer bootcamp—which was serendipitously located three short blocks away from Trunk Club. When she completed the bootcamp, she was accepted into Trunk Club’s six-month apprenticeship program, and after learning the ropes, she joined the team full-time.

Software Engineer
Jennie arrives to work between 8:30 and 9 AM and first knocks out some quick tasks on her to-do list. She writes code throughout the day, focusing her efforts on Trunk Club’s member-facing applications. In the afternoon, Jennie usually pairs up with one of her fellow engineers or meets with other Tech Team members to work on miscellaneous design or technology-related projects.
