An adventurous spirit with several interests, Doug's professional resume includes theatre and film, teaching high school, and conducting political research. Doug’s unique combination of cultural, leadership, and tech skills led him to ThoughtWorks. According to Doug, he actually hates computers, and joined ThoughtWorks to help make computers and software products more effective for people everywhere.
Doug works with his team to deliver exceptional products for both ThoughtWorks' clients and their users. He often sits with developers to architect apps and websites, build products feature by feature, and polish the final results. Throughout the product development process, Doug strategizes with clients, performs ongoing research, and drafts wireframes with the Business Analyst and QA Teams before building prototypes to test usability.
“ThoughtWorks wants to make the world better. As much as we can, we want to make sure that all people are afforded a good life.”
"One of my favorite aspects of design is the necessity of dealing with both strategic and tactical problems. Sometimes I spend all day trying to justify changing the scope of a design; other days I play with eleventy-seven different calendar prototypes just thinking about how to handle picking a range of dates. This range of work means every day is a new challenge, which is great because I get bored easily."
