With a bachelor’s in photojournalism from the University of Austin and a master’s from UC Berkeley in new media, Erik always dreamed he’d end up at a place like The Washington Post. While applying, he was really impressed by the depth of The Post’s Engineering Teams, and joined knowing he’d have the best opportunities and support.

Enjoying the flexible hours, Erik comes into The Post each day excited to support such a storied institution while actually using and learning about the latest and greatest technology. Embedded with the Graphics Team, Erik ensures colleagues can deploy APIs, data-collection scrapers, and other tools to help tell and deliver compelling, data-rich stories.
