Clay came up to Athens from a small town in rural Georgia so his fiance could attend school and was blown away to learn there was a brewery like Terrapin in town. When he tried the eccentric beers, he was even more impressed, and he decided to apply. Starting part-time in support, Clay worked his way up the whole packaging line.
Clay helps to ensure everything gets done right on the packaging floor—training new team members, aiding techs with new equipment, and fixing processes. When one of his fillers wasn’t working properly, Clay had the opportunity to take the whole thing apart and truly learn how it functioned, then fix it, and use that knowledge to guide future operating procedures.
“Terrapin’s culture is safety-oriented. Everyone communicates well together and gets along with each other, and it’s become something of a family here.”
“I’m excited to keep growing within this company and see it grow, reaching new states and consumers—to be able to go into grocery stores anywhere and know my team put this on the shelf, and that we’re making people happy.”
