At SXSW, employees are given the freedom to take their most creative ideas and run with them. With that freedom, however, comes an obligation to put in the effort to produce festivals of epic proportions. Luckily, SXSW employees and volunteers are passionate about what they do, and they know that their long hours will pale in comparison to the thrill of pulling off an amazing year.
The majority of SXSW’s employees started out as volunteers and seasonal workers, so SXSW volunteers are anything but your typical coffee handlers and paper pushers. To make the most of their SXSW experience, volunteers and interns are encouraged to take an active role in finding and tackling work that needs to be done and creating their own unique places within the SXSW community.
