Embracing the diversity of Stantec employees, the company holds parties that integrate different cultural traditions. In the fall, they celebrate Diwali, the Hindu Festival of Lights. Each summer, the team has a picnic, and each winter features a big holiday party. These events—along with monthly happy hours and a company softball team—bring employees together.
At a local level, each project has a team comprised of a project manager and staff members. Together, they manage resources, track progress, and communicate with the client. When particularly challenging problems arise, though, the local team can reach out to a global network of experts in order to develop and deliver the best solutions.
“We tackle some of the most technically complex projects out there. It’s something that requires more than just a turnkey solution. We have this great technical staff that’s willing to dig in, understand what the issues are, and develop the solutions that make our communities better places.”
“Management is as hands-on as you need them to be. If I’m handling a project just fine, I have a lot of freedom to run with it. Other projects are more challenging, and I can lean on the people above me who have more experience.”
