Micaéla has bachelor’s from McGill University in Canada and a master’s of science from Pratt Institute in New York. While on maternity leave, Micaéla studied improv comedy and performed standup routines in New York as a hobby. She launched a web show that got picked up by a Canadian network, and shortly thereafter, she connected with Some Spider.
Micaela’s duties are ever-changing as a creative video producer. One day may be devoted to figuring out how to balance a monstrous doll on a park bench, and another might mean analyzing the latest Brazilian waxing trends or making a remote-controlled helicopter fly without using the controller. Micaéla operates in a world that’s highly analytical one moment and uniquely fun the next.
“A project I’m proud of was a video for a very small brand that wanted us to make a commercial. We ended up coming up with this really kooky character called ‘The Mother Shusher,’ and it not only changed their business, but they’ve been back to us three times.”
“One of the things the CEO asks in every interview is, ‘If I called your old boss, would they say you’re a rockstar?’ It might sound cheesy, but it’s true—we are looking for rockstars.”
