Shannon's Story
Science Meets Art
When Shannon began considering university degrees, she was interested in studying something somewhere between science and design. She ended up attending the Simon Fraser University technical campus for the Interactive Arts & Technology program and she knew instantly that she found her passion. After graduation, Shannon gained experience from a number of start-ups–before being referred to Slack by a previous co-worker and friend.

Senior Product Designer
Shannon enjoys riding her motorcycle to the office each morning–usually arriving at Slack around 9:00 AM. Shannon eases into the day with a cup of coffee and some cereal from the company kitchen while she casually catches up with co-workers, and the remainder of her day is spent collaborating with her design team and working with the developers and PMs from her feature teams.

"Coming to work every morning here is like leaving your apartment and going to someone’s super fancy house to hang out with your friends."

“One of the most exciting things about working here is that we’re not scraping for feature ideas—new ideas are always coming in.”
