Duretti, who was reading source code in high school, deemed engineering too scary a major and majored in English instead. While studying, Duretti completed a work program with the Residential Tech Department, and it continued to grow her interest in technical work. Later, while working at a technical operations startup, a friend informed Duretti Slack was hiring—and she decided to be daring and apply.
Duretti’s days are a mix of creating new code for future feature releases and maintaining existing code. Together with her Engineering Team, Duretti combines both company input and customer feedback in order to build new tools, as well as to fix any issues that might arise on any of Slack’s platforms.
