A jazz guitarist who moved to New York City from Texas, Michael began working at Shutterstock through a temp agency. He’s stayed with the company, however, because its artistic vibe and supportiveness reminds him of the music community. Fellow employees are interested and excited to talk about his band and that makes it a great fit for any musician.
Michael began his career at Shutterstock as part of the People Team, striving to make the office and fun and functional place to work. Now, Michael works as a product manager on the Business Administration Tools Team, developing the company's Administrative API, as well as the internal applications that Shutterstock integrates with Salesforce.
“My favorite part about the culture here at Shutterstock is that there's 500 people—and growing—and it still feels like a startup.”
“There’s a nice sense of transparency throughout the company, so everyone feels like they’re a part of it.”
"We come in, make sure all of the meeting rooms are good, make sure all of the snacks are out—make sure that pretty much everything is set up so people can have a productive day but, at the same time, a fun day."
