Simon’s Story
Once Upon A Phone
After participating in a National Computer Science Team in Denmark and writing an article entitled “Why I’m Glad My iPhone Broke,” Simon caught the attention of Shopify’s recruiting director. Simon was still a student at the time, so after two days of interviews—and six more months of high school—he moved to Ottawa to take on the software challenges at Shopify.

Simon begins his morning by reading emails and reviewing code. If he doesn't have any morning meetings, he'll dive into the code early in the day. At lunch, Simon sits down with employees from other teams—a chance to share ideas across the company. In addition to one-on-ones and other meetings, Simon spends his time writing significant software.
