Dave developed an interest in information technology in high school after taking several elective courses in computer networking and systems administration. After graduation, he went right into the workforce, finding a job at a small software firm. A friend then referred him to Seattle Children’s Hospital, where he once was a patient as a kid.
After riding his bike to work, Dave starts his day with a team stand-up. Throughout the day, he meets with various employees to make sure their technology needs are being met. He loves that by providing information services to the hospital’s clinicians, doctors, and nurses, they’re able to make informed decisions about patient care.
“What I like most about the culture here is that everybody brings a helping hand. Everyone really collaborates and works together to solve problems.”
“My relationship with management is great. I’ve worked with my director for over four years, and we can talk about any issue. He’s given me the tools I need to be successful, and I feel like I’ve learned and grown quite a bit under his direction.”
