Growing up, Chardae initially wanted to be an engineer, like her father, but once she got into supply chain and information systems, she fell in love with the customer interaction. She graduated with a degree from Penn State, and shortly after, began her career in supply chain management—before landing at Saint-Gobain.
Starting at 8 AM, Chardae’s day is non-stop. After going over the production schedule for the week and putting out any fires, Chardae moves on to purchasing for capital projects and reviewing different analyses to determine cost savings for operations. An organizational wizard, Chardae keeps track of all the details needed to stay on task.
“My main goal here is to learn as much as I can, not only in the supply chain but also in the other departments. I’ve learned so much already—and there are so many opportunities for growth.”
“I love that it’s very entrepreneurial. They give us a lot of opportunity to make improvements to the business, no matter what our level within the corporation. It’s very rewarding, because I feel like I can make an impact.”
