Colton attended the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign and graduated in May 2016. He learned about Pure Storage through a friend who only had good things to say about the company after completing an internship. So when Pure Storage was on campus for a career fair, Colton made a point to talk to the representatives—then interviewed, and has worked there since 2016.
Colton and his fellow engineers work with a multitude of internal teams, since they’re the ones implementing all the different features these teams depend on. Colton works with a variety of technologies and coding languages, all the way from front-end design work to interfacing with the back-end systems.
“As new hire, I came into Pure Storage expecting to be told what to do and not being able to have input into important decisions. However, I was shocked to find that I had the freedom to bring my own input into major design decisions and be genuinely heard.”
“We've started a 'moonshot' program, where if you have some crazy idea that just might work, you can be put onto a moonshot, work on your project, and present it to the company.”
