It was on a stroll in Seattle that Erick first came across a Public Outreach Street Fundraiser. He found the staff’s genuine passion for the cause incredibly inspiring. In between jobs himself, Erick was eager to learn more. He applied for an entry-level canvasser position and slowly but surely worked his way up to management.
Working the night shift means Erick and his team need to keep things interesting to engage prospective donors after a long day. Using tactics like giving high fives or starting with a joke, he likes to refer to his team as “little speed bumps of happiness”—whatever it takes to raise money for the charities they work with.
