Maura earned her BFA at the School of the Art Institute in Chicago. Maura landed at PGAV after noticing that a friend who worked at the company was always happy—for Maura, happiness is step one in career satisfaction. She also liked that PGAV offered a friendly and social culture both in and outside the office.
Maura is a Jill-of-all-trades, so there’s no typical day for her. At any given time, she could be in the model shop creating scale mock-ups of ideas or testing viability of thematic elements. She might also be reviewing the art direction for projects or sketching out logistical specifications. Every day is a new challenge.
“I love the flexibility and growth so that each project can develop on its own. We all have a different type of input, which helps us succeed. We’re learning from our mistakes every time, and management supports that with a positive attitude.”
“It’s not about our own ideas—it’s about how we can make everybody’s ideas come together as a team. That’s what we do as designers.”
