Mixed Mastery
Mia studied industrial engineering, but her career didn’t turn toward technology until after she worked in healthcare and consulting. In fact, Mia didn’t start programming until just before she was recruited. Luckily, the PagerDuty recruiter emphasized the team’s interest in multiple skillsets—so Mia happily joined the company she knew was solving interesting cloud problems with a great reputation too.

Software Engineer
Mia starts each day with breakfast from the office kitchen before digging into the JIRA backlog. Since she works across timezones, Mia also has to juggle her to-do list with the afternoon team meeting, pair programming, and other platform problems. When she isn’t applying her eagle eye to solve tricky docker issues, Mia ventures away to attend industry conferences or training sessions.
