After gaining his bachelor's in engineering—focused on mechatronics, robotics, and automation—from McMaster University, JD joined a broadcast company. His original role was helping develop things, like instant replay for sports. When he learned about PagerDuty, JD was attracted by the amazing people and culture, the developer-oriented product, and the unlimited potential.
JD starts each day by syncing up with his teammates and jumping in to help finish up whatever projects they’re working on before convening for the daily stand-up. When he isn’t using agile processes to stabilize data storage services or improve front-end code, JD enjoys the monthly hack days, where teams work together to experiment with new ideas.
