One of the projects that Cody is most proud of? The headline-testing module he helped develop for Outbrain’s clients. The module gives newsroom editors the ability to edit headlines on the fly and A/B test which headlines work best. Cody’s module makes it easy to gauge what audiences are reacting to—and allows publishers to quickly and easily respond to any and all feedback.
Cody starts his day with a Stand-Up Meeting with his immediate team members, talking through the previous day’s work as well as what’s on the plate for the upcoming agenda. During the day, Cody will work with his fellow developers and—if he’s working on a front-end project—designers to get all of Outbrain’s products beautiful, functional, and complete.
“There gets to a point in scaling where you can’t just add more machines. You have to rethink your entire paradigm. Getting more customers gives us the opportunity to do that—which would normally not exist if this wasn’t a vibrant company.”
“What I’m really excited about is doing more things with the data we have. There’s so many things we are doing with data to increase our influence on news, media, and editors.”
