Abel’s mother hoped Abel would go into medicine and become a doctor, but Abel realized he had a stronger love for software than for medicine. With a degree in computer science from NYU, Abel tried a few positions—until finding the right combination of challenges and rewards at Optoro.
Abel’s typical day at Optoro starts with a team meeting to go over the latest projects, sussing out any issues that might be a roadblock and working to remove those barriers. Abel’s main goal is to make sure that he’s executing the projects on the engineering roadmap as effectively as possible.
“Through our work at Optoro, we’re able to help keep things out of landfills and actually help to reduce the general traffic of objects, which is ultimately fantastic for our environment.”
“Optoro’s purpose and mission is sustainable commerce, and our platform allows us to reduce the number of truck loads and car trips required for an object to get from a warehouse to a customer—we’re able to do that by actually finding better avenues for resale.”
