Kristen studied industrial and organizational psychology because she knew her future career would be in human resources. During her time in college, she completed several HR internships, but she felt most connected to healthcare. Luckily, Kristen had a contact at Open Systems—so her first interview after graduating also became her first full-time job.
Kristen was promoted twice before taking on all the responsibilities she handles today—which include teaching new HR coordinators to maintain compliance, conduct proper file auditing, and represent the company and its employees. Kristen does encourage a culture of compassion, but she doesn’t handle the bulk of hiring—which allows her to focus on the operational side, like helping set up the Baltimore office.
