While working as a freelance sound designer, Eric learned about Oak Island and realized his skills with audio implementation and stage production would translate well into the company. He first came onboard the organization as a freelancer, and within less than a year, he became a full-time employee—and has been with Oak Island for four years.
When new projects roll in, Eric assists specialists in creating products to install in the field. However, Eric’s duties mainly revolve about traveling to client locations to install pieces—transforming a rendered photo into a complete product. He is currently stationed in Atlanta to oversee an interactive tunnel project for Six Flags theme park.
“I’m a part of a project for Six Flags in Atlanta, and we built this amazing tunnel that goes through there with a full show that wraps every 20 minutes. Kids and parents will stop and gawk in awe at our lights, and it’s breathtaking to think we made that for them.”
“The work itself is always so different and creative that you don’t know what you’re going to walk into. So it’s great when you finish a project and you get this great triumphant feeling—but then we get to do it all over again.”
