Damon attended West Virginia Wesleyan College, where he studied graphic design. After graduating, he worked as a graphic designer for companies such as Dillards, Market Street Mortgage, and Atkins—before coming to Oak Island as a freelance designer. After providing designed catalogs, logos, and concept art for various attractions as a freelancer, he joined the company as a full-time employee.
Damon creates the conceptual artwork, scenic design, and bid packages for the company’s large-scale special events, theme parks, entertainment centers, and attractions across the nation. He also designs and coordinates concept boards and creative packages for project proposals—and is involved in fashioning company-branded materials and digital assets for presentations, tradeshows, and marketing campaigns.
“We’re looking for people who are creative, willing to try new things and explore all the possibilities. We put a lot of time and effort into everything we do to make sure we deliver the best product possible.”
“Most people, including myself, didn’t start out with experience in this field. It’s a great line of work to get into—you just need that innate ability to pick things up, visualize a concept, and make it into a reality.”
