Growing up in Lebanon, Saba started in the satellite industry at a young age. After working in the industry and getting to travel around the world, Saba heard about O3b and got a job in their Dubai office as a Service Delivery Manager. Saba moved to the U.S. a few years later to support the company’s growth, and his main focus evolved from network implementation to operations engineering.
Since O3b works with many companies in earlier time zones, mornings are typically the busiest part of Saba's day. He first meets with other operational leaders to address any outages or incidents that occurred during the previous 24 hours and ensure that everything is being worked on by the appropriate team. He then spends the rest of his day working on deployments and maintenance within O3b's global network to keep all of their customers satisfied.
“The company promotes us doing extracurricular activities. You don't really see many companies in the U.S. who'll willingly give you half of the land on the side of the building to have a race track to race RC cars after hours.”
“Everybody is in the know what's happening in the company. We have a lot of all hands calls where we brief everybody, so you can pick a guy from the Singapore office and he would know exactly what's happening in terms of an operational level in Latin America.”
