Patti's Story
Jumping Ship
Growing up, Patti had her sights set on being a doctor. She went to college for pre-med but realized that the field wasn’t right for her, and instead joined the Navy where she stayed for six years before getting a job as a network engineer for the government. After being contacted by O3b about a new position, she decided she was ready for a change and joined the team.

Patti’s day generally starts around 9 AM with a couple of meetings to touch base on current lab or operational projects. For the rest of the day, she oversees the operations of the lab to ensure that the engineers and developers are able to successfully test and implement new products for O3b’s customers.

"I have so much fun every day. I never know what to expect when I walk in the door and it's always a challenge, it’s always fun."

"The management style is generally very laid back. I've worked for a few different managers and all of them have given me a project and let me run with it—there's not a lot of micromanagement."
