With her dual master's degrees in computer science and public policy, Kim believes in the power of technology. Each year, Next Century invites 50 to 60 young women, ages 8 to 14, to learn different parts of computing for a day. The girls rotate through a series of activities led by technical professionals exposing them to all different types of STEM. The day is inspirational, empowering, and educational.
Kimberly’s days begin in the Engineering Team stand-up meeting. Together the group discuss their goals for the day and any roadblocks that they might be facing. Next, they head back to their respective desks and get down to developing front- and back-end applications or demo tools, testing each creation before finalizing projects.
