Charuti was born in India and travelled to the U.S. to earn her master’s degree. In graduate school, Charuti accepted an internship at Argonne National Labs, where she studied electricity markets in different countries through simulations. Seeking more challenging, hands-on projects, she then joined MWH.
Charuti is excited that the merger with Stantec will open new possibilities for international projects.
Since Charuti works on multiple long-term projects at once, she must prioritize as problems arise. She interfaces with many different people, teams, and disciplines through coordination and follow-up meetings. Her favorite projects are the ones that allow her to begin on the planning and feasibility level—and then see it all the way to completion.
“What I like most about the company is the diversity that we have. I don’t just mean different nationalities—it’s also equal opportunities for both men and women.”
“Be open about what you really want to do in your career so that people here understand where you’re trying to get to. That way, they can guide you, through the mentorship program to help you reach your goal.”
