While Elise had intentions of studying broadcasting or teaching, she ended up falling in love with her communications classes. She graduated with a degree in mass communication and began working in the field soon after. She was inspired by her work at a city park and found that she loved having a positive impact on the community.
Elise’s job is all about supporting the families that MDA serves. She works strategically to ensure that MDA provides great programming and opportunities for families to engage with the organization’s mission. She also travels to other MDA offices to work directly with staff across the country on their support programs.
“In my different roles here at MDA, I’ve had a lot of great opportunities to work with a lot of different people within the organization, and it’s so neat to be able to work with people who really, truly have the same passion and commitment for what they do and what our organization does.”
“The MDA has a great training and development program that was really helpful for me, but also for the employees I work with—to really give them some targeted training areas to help build the skills they need.”
