After obtaining a psychology degree, Jerod entered the mental health field—first as an Academic Coach Advisor, then as a university teacher in China. Planning a permanent return to San Francisco, Jerod applied to Hack Reactor—MakerSquare's parent company. Its mission struck a chord with Jerod, and he began a challenging yet exciting career in educational technology.

Jerod runs MakerSquare's software educational programs across all campus locations. In addition to making business decisions, Jerod partners with MakerSquare’s founders and executive teams to exceed metrics and with local Managing Directors to enhance engineering curriculums—helping MakerSquare employees and technology students progressively plan and achieve career goals.
