Kate’s Story
Music for Life
Kate graduated with a degree in English Literature and landed a job in publishing—where she learned that she definitely wanted to do something different. She’d always been interested in music, and so, after floating through jobs for a bit, she accepted a position at Lincoln Center in programming, working on artist ticketing. Eventually, she made her way to where she is now, enjoying and curating the best music performances in the world.

What Kate Does
Associate Director, Music Programming
Kate’s job is structured more by season than by day. For each series she’s in charge of—which includes pre-concert performances for the Mostly Mozart Festival, the music on film series, and Coffee Concerts—Kate hires artists and speakers, reviews press releases and marketing materials, and oversees the house programs. Kate also works with the Digital Media department, assisting with video content and identifying the appropriate spokespeople for each one.

"Our department is really close. We eat lunch together every day, which is very strange to people when they first start working here."

"People are incredibly open. When I have questions, there’s no hierarchy of who to ask. Everyone is willing to help you out."
