Jacinda’s Story
2D to VR
Jacinda studied illustration at Rhode Island School of Design, back before video game specializations were a common thing. Starting out in San Diego, working on a 2D college basketball game, Jacinda eventually arrived at Insomniac as the Environment Artist—and has risen to senior, lead, and now Studio Art Director.

What Jacinda Does
Studio Art Director
Overseeing the art and animation at Insomniac, Jacinda focuses on making sure that the final product is aesthetically correct, whether she’s aiming for a certain style or achieving hyper-realism with cutting-edge technology. Loving the freedom of an independent studio, Jacinda relishes the opportunity to go all out with personality on projects like Sunset Overdrive.

“Nothing gives me more satisfaction than getting a bunch of people together, working out what everybody wants to do, and coming out with a solution that almost everyone’s happy with.”

“We’re always looking towards the future. We’re exploring new technologies like VR and next-gen consoles, Steam games, you name it. We’ve even tried mobile. We always try to keep current and push ourselves creatively and technically.”
