When Amy chose social work as her major in college, her mom was at a loss for words—and Amy quickly realized she too had a lot of educating to do, both of herself and of her family. A Bachelor’s and Master’s in Social Work later, she eventually found that her talents and abilities were best suited to analytics, and she’s since loved the opportunity to use macro-level data to educate and bring attention to human rights issues.
What Amy Does
Associate Director of Research
Amy starts her day going through her email, finding out what the latest data-related needs are. She’ll put together analyses for both Heartland Alliance and partner organizations to get a better handle on what’s happening amongst the population Heartland serves and provide a factual basis for decisions. From collecting data to running analyses to making recommendations based on her findings, Amy’s research helps Heartland Alliance make its incredible impact.
