Originally wanting to be a surgeon, Katie attended Loyola for pre-medicine, but traded in her scalpel for a pen and a degree in English. Working in sales, service, and support, Katie’s interest in tech grew, so she taught herself each night, eventually teaming up with a mentor who prepared her for the technical opportunity she landed at HCSC.
Enjoying the flexibility to come in at a time that works for her, Katie begins each day tackling any issues that popped up overnight. Improving the IT experience and supporting developers across the whole enterprise, Katie has worked on massive projects—like taking over 500 applications used by 2,000 developers across all of HCSC and migrating them into a new toolset.
