Patty came to Goodwill after a 10-year career in retail. Starting out as a recruiter and then an employment manager, she more recently moved over to the retail side to become Goodwill’s Director of Stores. Her previous experience has been helpful in these new roles, and Patty loves that she now gets to work with different departments across the organization.
What Patty Does
Director of Stores
Patty’s day usually starts at 8 AM with a review of the previous day’s achievements with the store managers. From there, she and the management team determine the day’s priorities—whether that’s helping to organize the store, working to hit revenue targets, or focusing on making programs like the Clothing Collaborative a success. Then, she dives right in to getting the work done.
“The Clothing Collaborative enables participants to get head-to-toe clothing for an interview. Everyone thinks about resume-building and interview skills—but no one thinks about the actual day someone has to go to an interview.”
“We’ve seen Goodwill grow here in Boston—and it’s great to see us go and transform as the organization grows.”
