Alina’s Story
Helping the Transition to Employment
Alina always knew she wanted to work in human services. In her first job as a re-entry counselor for women getting out of prison, Alina loved the rush of helping people in transition identify their skills and next steps. Today, in the Boston Career Link center, Alina looks forward to celebrating every person who finds a job.

What Alina Does
Manager of Career Services
Alina starts her day by opening up the career center, checking in with her team, and making sure the place is ready for the day’s activities. Each day itself is shaped by the people who come in to the center and the unique challenges and stories that come with them. But whatever the day brings, it’s Alina’s job to make sure each individual who comes in has what her or she needs to successfully apply for jobs.

“When people come in and report that they have a job, it’s really a career center success.”

“We are a motley crew, in a good way. We represent all walks, all backgrounds, and we’re all moving in the same direction with our organizational goals.”
